The Gulu High Court has halted the eviction of kiosk owners from road reserves by the municipal council.

Justice Remmy Kasule on Friday ruled that the kiosk owners be given six months to get alternative premises.

After the ruling, the excited kiosk owners threatened to spear to death any municipal official who would try to evict them.

The mayor, Christopher Acire, said many people during the insurgency had fled to the town centre and erected illegal structures, which had affected the town’s plans.
