Mugerwa still in the dark
BOXING - Attanus Mugerwa’s chances of taking part in the national Open boxing Championships have hit a snag after the federation said that he is not among those boxers that have been pardoned. The event due at Lugogo starts on January 15. In a brief meeting with the press on Saturday, boxing federation president Roger Ddungu said that though Mugerwa had been cleared of the offence earlier, he showed gross indiscipline ahead of preparations for the All Africa Games. “He was cleared but went on to show acts of indiscipline before the All Africa Games,”Ddungu said.

Wembley top
SOCCER - Wembley Boys, the youth side for Express FC, has taken an early lead in Rubaga First Division soccer league. The team is unbeaten after four matches. Wembley thrashed third- placed Lungujja Young Stars 6-1 at Wankulukuku on Sunday with captain Julius Senoga scoring twice. Mathias Kawesa, 42, the oldest striker in the event, scored one goal. Vincent Mayombwe, Abbey Segujja and Tom Lubulwa also scored.
