AT least four people were killed and several others injured when the LRA attacked civilians in a disco in Adjumani district on Saturday night.

The district chairman, Nixon Owole, said the rebels attacked a marriage party in Elegu village, Arinyapi parish in Dzaipi sub-county at about mid-night.

“The rebels shot at the group of disco dancers on Saturday, killing three on the spot, while one died on arrival in Adjumani hospital.

Twelve others were injured,” Owole said, adding that the killing was barbaric.

He said the LRA insurgency was a “useless war against helpless civilians.”

The UDPF northern region publicist, Lt. Chris Magezi, said about 15 rebels attacked the revellers.

He said the rebels entered Adjumani from Gulu district.
Dzaipi sub-county is 11km east of Adjumani town at the Gulu border.
