‘No re-run in presidential polls’

HEALTH minister Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi has said there will be no re-run in the presidential elections.

HEALTH minister Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi has said there will be no re-run in the presidential elections.
Muhwezi, the Rujumbura MP and Rukungiri district NRM chairman, said NRM has two million voters in its elected organs in the country which is a big entandikwa (start up) for its election.
He said this while campaigning at Ikuniro in Buhunga, Rujumbura, Rukungiri district on Wednesday.
Muhwezi was accompanied by his wife, Susan and district LC5 NRM candidate Zedekia Karokora. Muhwezi addressed rallies at Ikuniro, Kakamba and Mugamba in Buhunga sub-county. He was welcomed by bodaboda cyclists and movement supporters who chanted “no change†slogans.
He said the NRM would ask every committee member in its organ to recruit two voters to have a total of six million which is more than 51% of the votes required for the president to win the elections.
Muhwezi said the use of DDT would start in Rukungiri, to get rid of malaria in the district and the country at large.
He said before there would also be distribution of mosquito nets to breastfeeding and expectant mothers, whom he said were most affected by malaria.
Muhwezi said two million people die of malaria in Africa every year but with DDT, malaria will be history.
