Court unfair to Besigye

SIR – I think the courts are being unjust to Dr Kizza Besigye by forcing him to come to court every other day.

Yes, the judge said campaigns are not his business but judges do not live in heaven. For instance, isn’t Justice Katutsi a voter? Will he call Besigye to court on polling day?
It is an abuse of Besigye’s rights to make him travel from, say, Arua to court in Kampala and then the State fails to produce witnesses. There are only just over two weeks to elections.
Is it too much to ask that Besigye be given time to focus on his campaign? People are following the goings-on in our country, so let us have one of the best elections.
