CHRISTIANS of Ssenyange Miracle Centre have blessed Masaka Municipality parliamentary candidate Kizza Mujoobe and asked him to remember their Church when he wins the elections.
Pastor Charles Lukwago led the prayers after a rally at Lorry Park in Masaka town, where Kizza, an assistant commissioner in the fisheries department and an NRM candidate, vowed to trounce incumbent MP John Kawanga on grounds that Kawanga spent most of his time in courts of law and had no time for his people.
“You should elect an MP who will not always spend his time in court with his clients,†he said.
Kizza said Kawanga failed to assist residents of Nakaiba, who were evicted from a wetland by environmental watchdog NEMA. He said since he abandoned them they should punish him by denying him votes.
“He spent two weeks without knowing that his people had been evicted, but still he never came up but I assisted the families especially children to ensure that they remained in school,†he said.
He said he would bridge between Mengo and the central government and vowed to demand for Buganda’s university to be established in Masaka.
Kizza promised to lobby the government to resume federo talks with Mengo.
