THE NRM is ready to re-open federo negotiations with the Buganda government (Lukiiko) when it is elected back to power.

The head of the NRM national security committee and a member of the central Uganda campaign team, Maj. James Kinobe, yesterday urged the Baganda to vote for NRM, saying it was the only government capable of giving them what they wanted.

Kinobe said President Yoweri Museveni would have his final rally at Kololo Airstrip today starting at 10:00am.

Flanked by the presidential political assistant, Moses Byaruhanga, at a press conference in Kampala, Kinobe said, “NRM is willing to receive any team for further discussions and come to a compromise. Let us wait until after elections.”

Kinobe added, “It is an assurance from President Museveni that after the elections, the issue can be raised again and a compromise reached, like we did with former Katikkiro Ssemwogerere. There is no cause for alarm. We (NRM) are the only political group that can deliver.”

Byaruhanga said FDC and other parties were lying that they would give Buganda federo.
