DP’s Ssebaana expects 60% win

DP presidential candidate John Ssebaana Kizito made his vote no secret, when he openly ticked himself off under the full glare of cameras.
Surrounded by inquisitive journalists and flicking cameras, Ssebaana and his wife Christine voted at Kabalagala Police Post polling station at exactly 11:20am.
Soon after voting, he told journalists that he expected to win the polls by 60%.
“I expect good results. As I have been telling you I will win by 60%,†he said.
Asked whether he would accept the results if he lost, Ssebaana, who said he was going back home to sleep, said, “It will depend on the reports I get. I cannot commit myself that I will accept if it later in the day turns out a violent rigging exercise.â€
Ssebaana arrived to lighten up the dull station at about 11:15am in the company of his daughters Joyce Kizito, who flew in from the UK, Florence Namugenyi and four grandchildren.
He castigated the electoral Commission for not carrying out enough civic education, yet they were given a lot of money for it.
“Civic education has been mostly the work of the Electoral Commission, they got money for it, but have not done enough. We have done our best as Democratic Party, but it has not been enough,†Ssebaana said.
He criticised DP members who have been campaigning under the image of FDC and its candidate Col. Kizza Besigye, saying the party would sort them out after the elections.
“They have been indisciplined and will be dealt with after the elections. In DP we have got certain rules we follow, we have no individual programmes,†Ssebaana said.
Asked about reports that he intends to join hands with Besigye in case of a re-run, Ssebaana said, “That will come at its time. You only cross the bridge after you have reached it.â€
