KUMI — The Teso Karamoja Women Initiative for Peace has urged the Karimojong to adopt a farming culture and form groups to fight hunger and poverty. The chairperson, Joyce Asekenye, on Thursday told journalists that they had identified some fertile lands and urged the government to introduce agriculture to those areas. She said the youth should be trained on how to manage the land.

KABERAMAIDO — The district inspector of schools, Moses Ochung, has said they are drafting laws to deal with parents who do not provide basic scholastic requirements for their children. He was meeting delegates from FAWEU Uganda chapter, who had gone to register over 45 vulnerable children for scholarships on Wednesday.
