BAGANDA Bus Park structures have been demolished to construct a modern bus terminal.

The demolition follows an order recently issued by Kampala High Court.

Last week, the court denied UBOA managing director Charles Muhangi powers to stop the demolition of the structures.

The property that currently belongs to the Uganda Bus Operators Association (UBOA) is located on Plot 43-47 Nakivubo Road.

By Saturday morning, th area was fenced off and under heavy security deployment.

However, there were reports that the park would be replaced by a shopping mall.

Kampala City Council public relations officer Simon Muhumuza yesterday said, “The construction, which is in the names of UBOA, is a combination of many things, including a bus terminal.”

Town clerk James Sseggane said, “according to the approved plan obtained by KCC, a bus terminal is supposed to be constructed at the bus park.”
