The education ministry has rejected a demand by Bugisu district Muslim council to transfer the newly-posted headmaster of Nkoma SS, Abdu Katamba Sserunjogi, writes Nathan Etengu.
The commissioner for secondary education, Yusuf K. Nsubuga, in a February 24 letter, said the foundation body had no moral authority to set conditions and make preferences over the appointment of the new headmaster.
He said the mismanagement of the school, which nearly resulted in students missing the 2005 final examinations, took place at the “doorsteps” of the foundation body.
