MPS have asked transport state minister Andruale Awuzu to make a statement on Face technology, a company contracted to make computerised driving permits.

This followed halting debate on the project last week after ministers for finance (Agard Didi) and works (Francis Babu) gave contradicting positions on the contract award, its execution and chargeable fees.

General duties minister Prof. Mondo Kagonyera undertook on behalf of government to harmonise the ministers.

Kasilo MP Elijah Okupa had raised the matter for debate.

Premier Prof. Apolo nsibambi yesterday asked Awuzu to make a statement.

In the previous session, the transport ministry said the finance ministry handled the project.
Babu had told parliament that sh45,000 was chargeable for a one-year permit, while sh65,000 was for a three-year permit.
But MPs said the public paid sh120,000 and sh170,000 respectively.
