China calls

Besigye visit
KAMPALA — Mulago Hospital was on Friday the scene of rare excitement when FDC leader Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye visited Ward 2C. Besigye was visiting Haruna Byamukama, 22, who was in February shot near Bulange in Mengo during the presidential campaigns. Besigye said FDC would discuss with the medical authorities the possibility of transferring Byamukama to a hospital with better facilities.

LCs swear in
KAMPALA — Local council officials will be sworn in today. The term of office of former LCs expired on Friday. A May 5 circular from local government minister Prof. Tarsis kabwegyere will guide the LCs in the swearing-in. Chief administrative officers will guide the process.
