Insurance firms and brokers should design affordable health policies for low-income earners can afford, Uganda Investment Authority’s executive director has said.
Dr. Maggie Kigozi said insurance is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.
Kigozi urged brokers to educate the public about the importance of insurance.
She was addressing Uganda Association of Insurance Brokers (UAIB) members in Kampala recently.
The chairperson of UAIB, Irene Kego, said the public should use professional brokers.
Kego said, “Our service to the public is free and we advise on what kind of policy to buy and also help clients claim compensation in case of an accident.â€
