THE mushrooming FM Radio Stations and mobile phones have greatly contributed to the high level of poverty especially in the countryside, the Mayuge chief administrative officer, has said.

THE mushrooming FM Radio Stations and mobile phones have greatly contributed to the high level of poverty especially in the countryside, the Mayuge chief administrative officer, has said.

Dunstan Balaba, said many people take pride in calling the radios just to send greetings to friends and be heard on air.
“It is like there is a plot by the telephone companies and radio owners to impoverish our people.

“In a day, someone can use money worth 100 bricks just to call and greet friends and family members including his wife he is seated with,” Balaba told residents in an address recently.
