THE Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) on Friday commissioned teachers’ quarters, libraries and pit latrines worth sh120m at three primary schools in Pallisa district, reports Nathan Etengu.

CCF national advisory committee chairperson Bbale Bwanika commissioned the projects at Butove primary school in Budaka and others at Kadenge and Pulaka primary schools in Kibuku and Butebo counties.

LC5 chairman Bob Fred Wasugirya, the district education officer, Sam Fred Kibuule and CCF area manager Carolyne Masaba attended the functions.

Wasugirya appealed to the teachers not to use the staff quarters to defile pupils under their custody.

“There are reports that some male teachers defile pupils even within the school. The teachers’ houses should not be used to defile pupils. Such acts retard the education of girls and must stop. As a district, we are going to ensure that the law catches up with such teachers,” Wasugirya said.
