DENNIS Musali showed brilliance with the gloves and the bat to lead Wanderers CC to a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Tornado B in their last tie of the Castle Lager league at Entebbe oval on Sunday.

Musali, a wicket keeper and opening batsman, rose to the occasion when it mattered most with a match-winning unbeaten 35 runs off 59 balls, two stumpings and two catches to set up a sweet revenge for his side.

Put in to bat, Kibuka Musoke’s side found the going tough following Amos Kyazze (3-21) and Davis Arinaitwe (3-18) in the rain interrupted match, struggling at 53 for seven in 15 overs before being bundled out for 91 runs.

Only Jeremy Kibuka musoke (20) and Emmanuel Issanez (19) managed double figures.

Musali then combined with Joshua Mwanja (31*), who survived two catches, to overhaul the set score with four overs in hand.

At Kyambogo, new entrants Rounders suffered a 40-run defeat to Patidar to complete the league with no win.

A man-of-match performance from Patel Mandesh earned Patidar their maiden victory in conditions that assisted the bowlers all day.

Champions Tornado managed a 57 run victory over Castle XI despite a poor batting show from Joel Olweny (05), Nehal Bibodi (21) and Baig Akbar (20) at Lugogo.

Action turns to the semi-finals of the Mawanda Cup on Sunday before the super five league next month.
