A fire on Thursday gutted a shop in Kalisizo town, killing a six-year-old girl. Nashim Nakabazzi’s body was found under her bed where she was hiding from the fire, the district Police commander, Juma Okungo, confirmed.

The family of the late former vice-president, Paul Muwanga, has pledged to refurbish Kanyange primary school in Kagoma. Muwanga’s grandson, Patr-ick Muwanga, recently told parents and the scho-ol administration that the family was committed to revamping the school.

State minister for disabilities Sulaiman Madada recently advised people to visit their grandmothers as a sign of love during the week for the elderly scheduled to take place from tomorrow to September 1.
