INTERNATIONAL sports kit manufacturers Puma and two other companies are bidding for the right to dress the national team for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The Uganda Olympic Committee Council meeting at Grand Imperial on Saturday was told by its president Maj. Gen. Francis Nyangweso that Nike, Lacoste and Puma, who dressed the Melbourne Commonwealth Games team, have shown interest.

“They have said that they want to come up but told us that they also have a contract with athletics. We will have to first contact athletics to see whether, the new sponsorship wont affect them,” said Nyangweso.
