GULU - Ten thousand people are needed to take part in the GuluWalk 2006, to raise $1m (about sh1.8b) for abandoned children in northern Uganda. The walk, slated for October 21, is a global event that focuses on raising awareness and support for children in northern Uganda. Each participant will raise $100, GuluWalk co-founder Adrian Bradbury said recently.

District gets
KITGUM - The district has received sh351m from UNICEF for the implementation of its projects. District planner Eugene Oola said in an interview recently that the funds were from the first quarter release for the new financial year and covers the period of July to September. He said sh28.6m would be used to fight cholera.
