BUSIA: Carpenters get
The district, through the community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programme, has handed carpentry equipment worth sh2m to local artisans. The artisans, who were recently trained in making devices to assist persons with disabilities, were also given sh100,000 as a start up fee, LC5 chairman Patrick Wedakule said. He urged the beneficiaries to pass on their skills to other people in their communities, including the women.

KAPCHORWA: Limb probe
District director of health services Dr. Alfred Boyo is investigating Kapchorwa hospital medical staff after a two-and-a-half-year-old boy lost both limbs under unclear circumstances. Boyo said doctors, clinical officers and nurses would be required to explain their role in the alleged maltreatment of Dan Rotich, who was admitted after developing minor limb impairments.
