SIR — I suggest that we call corrupt people thieves. This is not for the sake of naming because we have better naming ceremonies. Corruption contributes to poverty in many ways.

I think it is high time we stopped using expressions like ‘misuse of funds’, ‘embezzlement’
and ‘misallocation of resources’. Such expressions seem so nice for the corrupt that they end up accepting them as normal.
To escape poverty and improve the quality of our lives, we should do everything legally possible to stop thieves from stealing resources meant for our social and economic development.
