The MTN campus fest at Mbarara University of Science and Technology on Saturday was Kenyan artist Nameless’ first live performance outside Kampala.
Forgive the fans present, several of them did not know the crooner, let alone his songs. After all it was in Mbarara.
Other earlier performers on the night included the Obsessions with Wekuume, Chagaa, Bobi Wine and Nubian Lee as well as Infinity Dancers and the duo, Ngoni.
Several contestants turned up for the Mr and Mrs MTN, winning backpacks, T-shirts, radios and pens with the company logo.
The winner of Mr MTN also won a dinner-for-two with KfM presenter Aisha Albhai, at an undisclosed Mbarara hotel. The fest took place at an open square between the university’s only two on-campus hostels.
While students chose to watch the performances through the windows of their rooms, several outsiders jammed the university premises, after all it was all free.
