They are golden yellow. However, gibbium psylloides, one of the species are reddish-brown and shiny.

The adult beetle inflicts damage by feeding on foodstuffs, woollens and natural silks. These beetles shun the light and live in ceiling voids and are typical pests in timber framed and old buildings.

Control measure:
To control them, thoroughly spray all hiding places, crevices and all the dark corners with Baygon EC or Solfac WPEC, twice in a spacing of three weeks in a year.
