KASSIM “The Dream” Ouma has vowed to make his world title fight a sweet Christmas gift for Uganda.

“It’s going to be a party for my country, though there will be someone shedding tears of grief before his home fans,” vowed Ouma, who will be fighting in Taylor’s hometown.

There couldn't be a better message from the former UPDF child soldier, who will also be celebrating his 29th birthday three days after the WBC middleweight fight.

Ouma and Taylor were both in verbal form at the pre-fight press conference in the lobby of Little Rock’s Five Star Peabody Hotel on Thursday evening.

Taylor also had a warning for Ouma, whom he said was headed for some Arkansas lessons.

“I’ve trained pretty hard. I assure my fans that it’s our win,” said the Olympic bronze medallist, who gave the conference a business touch in a dark suit.

Ouma, spotting a green head scarf and black sweat suit, was his usual self beaming with confidence.

Taylor said he would dedicate the win to his family. He was accompanied by his mother just like Ouma.

Ouma was also boosted by the presence of his sons Rahim Oundo, 3, and Omar Ojambo, 8.

The pompous conference was handy in the chilly midwest state that will host its biggest boxing event at the Alltell Arena.

Ouma later retired to a movie in his $500 (sh0.9m) a night 14th floor suite accompanied by his trainer Fred Muteweta, mentor Kent Musa and other supporters.

He wound up the day with a brief jog and sparring session. Weighing was set for last night.
