THE Acholi Paramount Chief, Rwot David Onen Acana II, on Sunday received 10 head of cattle from his maternal uncles from Bwobo clan in Alero sub-county, Nwoya county, Gulu District, writes Chris Ochowun.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation at the Acholi cultural institution headquarters in Gulu, Peter Okello Kuradwogi said the eight heifers and two bulls would help Rwot Acana II to begin his life and feed many visitors.
“We have given you these cows with blessings and we pray that they produce and fill your compound so that when visitors come, you don’t bother yourself to look for what to feed them on,” Okello said.
The uncles said the cattle were not for Acana’s coronation as the paramount chief, which is slated for January 15, adding that they would give their contribution for the enthronement later.
Okello urgd Rwot Acana to be a God-fearing king who should work with other cultural leaders to promote Acholi culture.
“The cows should have your blessing so that they can multiply,” Acana told his uncles. He thanked them for being exemplary.
