MAKERERE University is shopping for sponsorship for the Inter-Regional games. Anthony Mula, the sports and games union council chairman, yesterday said that sh7m is required for the championship scheduled for March. “Our major problem is the sports kits for the teams,” said Mula. Eastern region won the first edition of the event last year.

Malinga gets

STANDARD Chattered Bank yesterday boosted Alex Malinga with sh4m for his trip to Delhi. Malinga flew out shortly after for the Standard Chattered bank Greatest race on earth marathon due on Sunday. David Cutting handed over the cheque to UAF boss Okot Omwony.

FUFA aspiring president Michael Okiror is childish and sectarian, incumbent Dennis Obua has said. Obua, while addressing Zone I delegates on Wednesday at Golden Ark Hotel in Soroti, said he was a visionary and enterprising leader who had brought modest achievements in FUFA. Team drills

THE national cricket team has intensified drills ahead of the 2007 World Cup qualifiers set for Ireland in July. The side currently undergoing tense drills at Lugogo will have a trial match this Sunday. Many players have showed a slight improvement in their batting.The side is being handled by national coach Henry Okecho.
