KAKIRA’S Sirino Abong and Waisswa Lukungu were beaten in the poorly organised first national athletics trials at Rubale, 13km from Ntungamo on Saturday.
The race track at the poorly attended meet was not marked.
Abong’s front running did not help him as Uphill’s Jimmy Adat (15:40.3) out sprinted him to the finishing line in the 5000m. Lukungu fell to Geoffrey Wamaniala (2:03.8) in the 800m race.
