It is a Friday and somebody is looking for a place to relax. If there is no reason for one to hurry back home, then there is just as much to do in ushering in the weekend.
In the mood to appreciate jazz music, then here goes; Trio Chicago and Friends will stage a performance of classical jazz and popular music concert at Kampala Institute today and on Saturday from 7.00pm.
Entry is free and this eliminates any possible excuses as to why anybody should miss. Be there and enjoy Uganda’s budding talents.
KADS band will present The Good Person of Sichuan, a comedy by Bertolt Brecht at the National Theatre, which started on Thursday till Saturday at 7.30pm.
If you are into watching more singing! Then make Sunday a date at Christ the King Church. The choir will present The Crucifixion by Stainer at 3:00pm.
If you want an action-packed Sunday, there are water activities at Entebbe Sailing Club. All equipment and gear required is available for hire. Be there and you are certainly guaranteed a great time.
Alternatively, movies are not in short supply. Cineplex at Garden City on Yusuf Lule Road will be showing The First Daughter, a movie showing on screen one today.
It is based on the life of the first daughter of the United States of America. Her life when she is going to college, how she copes and how people react when around her.
Then Are we there yet will be showing on screen two. It is basically a comedy with Ice Cube taking his girlfriend’s children on a trip. It is a black American movie.
These are family movies where children can also be taken along; charges for children are sh8,000 and sh10,000 for adults.
Charges at Cineplex on Wilson Road are sh7,000 with Meet the focus, which is a sequel of Meet the Parents showing on screen one.
You want to have a therapeutic laugh, then be there and lower those stress levels. Meet the Focus is a comedy while Constantine is a thriller and horror about heaven and hell.
There is someone in the movie who wants to keep both places happy, so watch the thriller if you have the spine to weather blood chilling episodes.
Do not bring the children along for the horror.
