Primary schools in Kaberamaido and Katakwi districts have received scholastic materials from Soroti Diocese.
The donation included pens, exercise books, pencils, and mathematical sets, all worth sh17m.

Man arrested
THE Police in Jinja have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of defilement and making the victim pregnant.
The district CID officer, Zake Okot, identified the suspect as Stephen Mukungu of Kavule village in Iganga district.

14 killed
Fourteen people have died in road accidents in Jinja district this year, the district officer in charge of traffic, Amazia Bogere, has said. A total of 114 accidents were recorded.
