KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) defended their Makerere Open volleyball title with a hard fought 27-25, 25-23, 25-22 victory over Kampala City Council (KCC) Monday.

KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) defended their Makerere Open volleyball title with a hard fought 27-25, 25-23, 25-22 victory over Kampala City Council (KCC) Monday.
KCC led early in the first set but the spiking power of Hannington Nsubuga gave KAVC the upper hand at the Makerere grounds.
Nsubuga hit two stunning points in quick succession to give KAVC a 23-21 lead they held onto all the way.
MUK collected a maximum eight points to claim the women’s title while Katikamu beat St Mary’s Kitende SS to win the schools title.
Castle Lager, Cheers and Aqua mineral water sponsored the three-day Easter Makerere University tournament.
