KASESE district is to spend about sh3.5b on salaries for 1,221 civil servants in the 2005/2006 financial year under upcoming public service reform.
The district principal personnel officer, Wilson Musabe, revealed this in a 23-page draft report to the deputy head of public service/secretary for administration reform Ministry of Public Service.
Musabe was presenting the report to three officials from the ministries of public service and local governments.
The team was in the district to customise the new structure and gather views to be incorporated into the district model.
