BUSHENYI — The deputy resident district commissioner, Patrick Kawamara, has downplayed the strength of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), saying they are very young in politics. He said this on Wednesday at Nyabubale sub-county headquarters at the launch of farmers’ competitions to last five months.

Heavy rains
KABALE — Heavy rains on Wednesday destroyed property, livestock, crops, homes and schools in Rubaya sub-county in Ndorwa. The LC3 chairperson, Enock Kazooba, said in an interview recently that the people of Rubaya wanted rain but that this had wrecked havoc and may cause famine.

Power appeal
MASINDI — Residents of Kinyara have appealed to Kinyara Sugar Works Limited to extend power generated by the company to them so as to improve the quality of life. Area MP Kabakumba Matsiko was meeting board members at the plant.
