The NRM headquarters on Plot 10 kyadondo road, Nakasero, was a flurry of activity as MPs and district interim branch chairpersons on Thursday rushed to pick registration materials for party members.

A container of registration forms and dummies, membership cards and adhesive pouches for sealing the cards, was flung open to unveil the dispatch of district consignments.

The materials printed locally by Picfare industries cost the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party sh225m.

Party spokesman Ofwono Opondo supervised the dispatch.

He said members would not pay membership or subscription fees at the start.

Ofwono said by tomorrow, all districts should have received the items so that “massive registration” kicks off on Monday up to June 16 when the first registers would be submitted to the headquarters.

“We are targeting 200 members of 18 years and above in each village, especially here in Buganda, the west and some parts in the east where the Movement is popular,” Ofwono said.
