UGANDA Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) received offers from Select Garments and Scandinavia Express worth sh6.7m for the ABU convention.
Select Garments will dress up the UPBC officials with designer suits, that will be designed by the leading garment store, worth sh5.2m
“It is great to be part of this important occasion and we shall dress up all the UPBC officials for this convention with classy executive suits,” Billy Robert Ahimbisibwe, chief executive officer of Select Garments said. “The deal is worth sh5.2m and it includes one lady official.”
Scandinavia Express on their part offered a bus to transport all the delegates and show them around tourist sites in the country. “We are glad to be part of the sponsors to this boxing convention and as part of the partners we will offer them transport to Jinja to view all the tourist sites,” Faisal Mohammed, country manager of the transporting company, said.
“The package is worth sh1.5m and it will cater for historic site visits.”
The fifth ABU convention, that will be held in Uganda for the first time, will run from June 16-19 at Hotel Equatoria.
The African meet had earlier on received a sponsorship package from Stanhope Finance Company worth sh2.5m.
