SIR — The loss of Cecilia Achadu a sole female cardiologist and Robinah Kiyingyi a great lawyer in less than a fortnight is more than can be borne.
SIR — The loss of Cecilia Achadu a sole female cardiologist and Robinah Kiyingyi a great lawyer in less than a fortnight is more than can be borne.
These are people that the nation and history have invested in, an evident treasure to count on in tough times of the two professions they were in. Their deaths are painful but more so the fact that they were preventable.
Whatever the grievance behind the murder of Robinah Kiyingyi, it sure did not warrant such a brutal reaction, that the wealth of her experience be reduced to nothing at the hands of people who don’t value life at all.
This barbaric act is a manifestation of the closed mindset in conflict resolution that largely paints our definition of justice. It is a selfish and lame excuse to murder a person because of a disagreement.
For now we can only press for the improvement in the care for pregnant mothers and better security for all Ugandans and all those who live in it.
