A sh64m water scheme was on Wednesday commissioned in Rubaya sub-county in Kabale district.
Buramba Gravity flow scheme is the 32nd to be commissioned in Kigezi Diocese. It will serve six villages including a primary school and a church, and has 24 tap stands.
The Irish embassy contributed sh39m, while the diocese and locals contributed the balance. The project is targeted to benefit about 3,000 people.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Irish Embassy Civil Society Officer, Janet Musoloza, who represented the ambassador, said the Irish embassy had injected Euros 200,000 (sh480m) in water projects in Kigezi since 1998.
