MPS have demanded that the Office of the President vacates Parliament Buildings in view of the anticipated increase in their numbers next year, following the endorsement of the multiparty political system.

“If we can’t have extra room, the next Parliament is going to be in a mess,” a member of the Parliam-entary Commission, Ben Wacha, said.

The MPs on Friday complained that they were inconvenienced by the presence of the President at their premises. They questioned why Parliament should rent offices when their space is occupied by other people.

MPs expressed fear that they risked being electrocuted in the lifts because of the water. Wacha expressed concern that when it rains, water socks through all the floors on the north wing of Parliament.
