SIR — Umeme would like to correct the impression given by Mr. Charles Karamuzi in his article entitled “Umeme, is that the way to treat customers?” published on September 7.

SIR — Umeme would like to correct the impression given by Mr. Charles Karamuzi in his article entitled “Umeme, is that the way to treat customers?” published on September 7.

He says that it took Umeme four days to restore his power after he had been disconnected. Mr. Karamuzi was disconnected on August 29 and paid up in full on September 2 and was reconnected on the same day.

It is important that Umeme be given an opportunity to respond prior to such letters being published so as to give a balanced view to your readers.
