SIR — Recently, President Yoweri Museveni told a gathering of academicians and parents that students who pursue ‘poor courses’ are most likely to miss job opportunities after studies.
SIR — Recently, President Yoweri Museveni told a gathering of academicians and parents that students who pursue ‘poor courses’ are most likely to miss job opportunities after studies. I strongly disregarded that speech as I don’t believe that there a poor courses. A doctor cannot live without a farmer for instance, nor can a teacher survive without a doctor. The courses offered in higher institutions of learning are yet to yield to professional dependency. Therefore Museveni should have emphasised excellence in the various courses ensuring excellent performance in later professions.
