RESIDENTS of Purongo sub-county in Nwoya county, Gulu district have appealed to the Government to deploy more UPDF soldiers in the area to flush out remnants of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

The area Movement chairman, Faustino Oringa, made the appeal on Sunday to security state minister Betty Akech Okullu at a security meeting in Purongo IDP camp.

“We are very grateful to the UPDF for the peace in our area, but we still have some few LRA rebels roaming and loitering around us,” he said.
