She ought to have known better than to call journalists to a function about them and not expect to be entertained.

With soda, juice and mineral water being the only items on-the-house, it came as no surprise when several scribes left in protest.

Nevertheless, the convention of electronic journalists awards, which held their nomination night at the Kampala Casino, shed a dashing light on broadcasters.

With categories like talkshows, best male/female radio presenter, community awareness and lifetime achievement award slots being up for grabs, the hardest bit was finding a winner.

The dilemma was that most journalists knew their nominees, but did not know where they worked or their real names.

It is needless to say everyone was present from Bbale Francis, Charles Ssenkubuge Siasa and Alex Ndawula to Sheila Nvanungi and Allan Mugisha.
