THE UN Spouses’ Association (UNSA), an organisation comprising spouses of international staff members of the UN, has donated sh30m and other gifts to help Child Mothers in northern Uganda, writes Dennis Ojwee.

The UNSA chairperson in Uganda, May Grawford, handed over the cheque to Harriet Adokorach, the coordinator of the gender desk and head of department for the child mothers’ project at Caritas, Kitgum.

This was during the UN-Day festivities at Kaunda Ground in Gulu municipality on Thursday.
UNSA, together with the UN staff association, held a fundraising event to support the child mothers.

The spouses said this was done through organising a dinner-dance attended by over 300 guests at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. The First Lady, Janet Museveni (right), was chief guest.
