THE Express executive that had quit has bounced back to organise the club’s first general assembly in eight years. The move comes after separate meetings of club trustees and fans in Kampala on Sunday.
Club chairman Godfrey Kirumira, who resigned last week, fuelling a leadership crisis, was told to organise the assembly next month. Executive committee elections will crown activities of the assembly.
The trustees’ secretary Joseph Musiitwa, said Kirumira, who attended the meeting, apologised for failure to call the assembly since he came to office eight years ago.
“He will continue as chairman. He will work closely with other executives to organise the assembly,†Musiitwa said.
Fans club chief Francis Ntalazzi, said his group is ready to work with whoever is elected. “We agreed to deal with the executive in bringing back sanity to the club,†Ntalazzi said.
