International School of Uganda on Saturday raised sh2.2m from a charity swimming event to mark the World Malaria day. The World Swim for Malaria Day event attracted a large number of swimmers, their family and friends at the Lubowa campus. Proceeds will go to The World Malaria Foundation to fight the disease.


SOCCER: KFF ban due
THE Kenyan government admitted yesterday that it had failed to bring together warring factions in the national federation and were ready for a ban from the world soccer governing body FIFA. Kenya National Sports Council vice chairman Nderitu Gikaria said the NARC government failed to reconcile the two warring KFF factions.


SOCCER: URA's top 3
JACKSON Mayanja is one of three coaches that Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) will interview to handle their football team. A source revealed that the names of the other two are still secret because they are still employed by other clubs. "We need to protect them," the source said on Friday.

SOCCER: Okulo Cup
TELELA FC got off to a flying start in the Dickson Ogwang Okulo Cup in Kole County, Apac. Telela whipped Alela 2-0 in the opening match on Saturday at Barmindyang Primary School. Alex Otim netted the first goal in the 6th minute before Edward Opio sealed victory in the second half. Sponsor Ogwang Okulo donated six balls.
