THE Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has defended democratic Party (DP) presidential candidate John Ssebaana Kizito against attacks launched at him by President Yoweri Museveni.

Addressing journalists at their najjanankumbi offices, FDC presidential envoy Beti Kamya said, “Museveni says he gives KCC sh33b, yet State house which has less than 100 people uses over sh86b. Ssebaana takes care of two million people on sh25b, pays salaries, garbage collection, street lighting and road repairs.”

She said FDC youth had confessed to having been called to state house in the night, enticed with sh100,000 ‘for Christmas’, and asked to form groups to receive more ‘development funds’ in two weeks.

“This is wrong according to the electoral laws because it is bribing. We have reported this matter to the Electoral commission and these youths are ready to testify,” she said.

Kamya said despite the incarceration of his rival Dr. Kizza Besigye, Museveni is so afraid that he uses taxpayers’ money to bribe voters.

She appealed to the public to ignore statements implying that Besigye was going to escape, saying those are childish claims.
