RDC hails
LIRA —
The new deputy resident district commissioner, Silvesto Opira, has commended Lango leaders for creating the Amuka to fight Kony. He was recently giving a report on security in the district during a workshop at Lira Hotel.

LCs meet
GULU —
The President of the Uganda Local Government Authority Association, Capt. Emily Otekat, has urged chairpersons to forget their political differences and unite to deliver services. He was recently addressing a regional meeting at Hotel Kakanyero.

Government support
LIRA —
The government is committed to ending the war in the north, the state minister for disaster preparedness, Christine Amongin Aporu, recently said the government had taken serious steps to end the conflict.

CAO advises
SOROTI —
Chief administrative officer Geroge Omuge recently told residents of Aukot that the government would not grant them sub-county status unless they proved that they can be independent.
