JONAH Damba and Stephen Ssentongo are among the top title contenders in the ‘Who’s The King’ pilsner pool final today.
Damba of Park View and Deep Blue’s Ssentongo will be joined by 22 other players in the fight for a new set of pool equipment. Action is due at Yakobo Joint, Ntinda.
The kit including a table, clock, balls and cues is offered by the sponsor.
Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) is the sponsor under its pilsner lager beer brand.
The event ends after three weeks of action involving 24 clubs. The top player in each club after the preliminaries advanced to the last hurdle.
The singles final will pave the way for the team event starting next weekend. The final is set for March 13.
Damba and Ssentongo have been in brilliant form. This is the same display that lifted them above their rivals last year.
Kim Kirunga of Club Silk, Ben Kinene of Yakobo Joint also put up a spirited fight in the preliminaries.
