WEIGHTLIFTER Ismail Katamba has worked hard to earn a place in the national squad that will represent Uganda at the forthcoming East Africa Weightlifting championships in Dar es Salam, Tanzania March 12.

WEIGHTLIFTER Ismail Katamba has worked hard to earn a place in the national squad that will represent Uganda at the forthcoming East Africa Weightlifting championships in Dar es Salam, Tanzania March 12.
Katamba was earlier on dropped for unfitness.
Coach Ali Kavuma has however recalled the lifter after what he described as ‘tremendous improvement’.
His squad of nine men also includes team captain Moses Kimbowa, Mubarak Kivumbi, Noah Suubi, Nasser Lutaya, Badru Namujju, Godfrey Sentamu and Abubakar, Munyandida.
USPA weightlifter of 2003 Irene Ajambo leads the women’s squad which also has Haula Nakiganda, Fauza Namubiru and Mariam Nalubanga.
Kavuma is convinced this is the best squad he has ever presented at the regional championships.
