Extend to villages, RDC asks NGOs

Mbarara resident district commissioner (RDC) Clement Kandole has asked the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to consider the circumstances in a country while enforcing human rights laws.
Kandole was opening a one-day workshop by the Uganda Human Rights Commission in Mbarara recently.
The workshop was to sensitise local leaders on observing people’s rights while implementing development programmes.
Kandole asked NGOs to extend their services to the people at the grassroots instead of concentrating at the district headquarters.
He said people in the villages had been ignored yet they needed the services of the NGOs more than those at the district levels.
